IPConfigure Gives Back

At IPConfigure, it's not all about what we sell. We also take pride in helping and participating in our communities. When the City of Norfolk called out for support in launching its Bike Share (1) program called PACE, IPConfigure jumped at the opportunity to become a sponsor. With several employees biking to work regularly, it only made sense to encourage the development of healthy commuting alternatives and the expansion of an infrastructure that increases safety for the City of Norfolk, where IPConfigure is headquartered.

Norfolk is already a great city but this initiative puts it on the map as the first in the state (2) to launch such a program. Whether you want to explore the Neon District, take a stroll to a popular event or the beach, commute to work, or simply go out to dinner, Pace makes it easy to reserve a bike via its phone app, or park your own in a secure location. IPConfigure strives to be innovative in the video management software industry, so giving back to a community with similar aspirations is energizing. We look forward to contributing in making Norfolk an even more appealing place to live, work, and visit. We also believe that developing a comfortable cycling experience with improvements in signage, bikeways, and crosswalks will not only create safer corridors for cyclists and pedestrians but make them more visible to motorists as well. We certainly hope that other communities across the state will follow Norfolk's lead and get on this ride!

For our out-of-town friends who are not familiar with Norfolk, here are a few of the interesting facts (3) mentioned on the City's website:

  • 247,000 residents
  • Home to the world's largest naval base and the North American Headquarters for NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)
  • USA Today called Norfolk one of the Top 10 booming downtowns, recognizing a decades-long housing, retail, and financial boom in Norfolk.
  • Norfolk elected #1 America's Favorite Cities (2017) by Travel + Leisure readers
  • Norfolk is home of the USS Wisconsin battleship and a vibrant harbor. Ocean-going cruise vessels of up to 3,000 passengers regularly stop at the Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center downtown.
  • A beautiful 175-acre Norfolk Botanical Garden hosting 95 species of birds and 30 kinds of butterflies delights its 11,000 members and many additional visitors all year round

Partners who come for a visit can enjoy a bike ride on us as well! Simply download the PACE App and use promo code IPCONFIG for $10 in ride credit!
